Our firm successfully resolved a medical malpractice and cancer misdiagnosis case involving a man who was incorrectly diagnosed with terminal metastatic lung cancer and told he had less than six months to live. Based on that diagnosis, he was referred to hospice care, placed on powerful narcotic medications, and lived for years believing he was dying.
Despite clear signs that his condition was not progressing as expected, additional testing and follow-up imaging were not performed. Years later, after seeking a second opinion at MD Anderson Cancer Center, our client learned the devastating truth—he never had metastatic cancer. What had been treated as terminal cancer was actually a lung infection.
As a result of the misdiagnosis, our client lost years of his life believing he was terminally ill, underwent unnecessary hospice care, received prolonged treatment with high-dose narcotics, and suffered significant emotional, physical, and financial harm.
Through litigation, we held the responsible parties accountable and obtained a successful resolution for our client.
