What Happened
Our firm successfully resolved a catastrophic medical malpractice case after a vascular surgeon failed to timely restore blood flow to a patient's leg despite clear signs of acute limb ischemia.
The evidence showed our client repeatedly reported worsening pain, numbness, weakness, and loss of motor function while imaging confirmed multiple arterial blockages cutting off circulation to his leg. Despite these emergency findings, treatment to restore blood flow was significantly delayed.
By the time surgery was finally performed, the damage was irreversible and our client underwent a below-the-knee amputation.
As a result of the amputation, our client now faces lifelong physical impairment, chronic pain, extensive rehabilitation, permanent mobility limitations, and the need for prosthetic devices and future medical care for the rest of his life.
